Hey Redhanded, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. Could you tell us something about yourselves that perhaps nobody else knows?
When we started playing music together we called ourselves ‘9th’ – after a while of confusing everyone around us with that, we decided to change our name to something that was better suited to being a band name!
What influences would you say have gone into your sound recently?
We feel our sound is fairly unique because the range of influences for each band member is quite different. From root blues to progressive rock, a bit of metal as well as industrial our sound has been influenced by a broad palette of artists and genres.
What are you currently working on?
We are still in the final phases of releasing content for our debut album Retrograde, which has been a joy to share with the world. Work is already underway on our second album which will build on some of the themes explored during Retrograde.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Also are excited to announce that our next gig date has been confirmed for 19th August 2022 at 93 Feet East! Would love to see as many people there as possible! The hope is to continue doing gigs to support Retrograde while work continues on our new album.
Any top tips for getting through this difficult time as an artist?
It’s certainly a challenging time but we have found that there are many people willing to support artists. Numerous online platforms provide an avenue to promote content, while the reopening of venues recently enables paid gigs being back on the table. Festivals have also returned and artists able to build a following can certainly benefit from performing at one of those (which is a challenging but worthy endeavour!)
