Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
We met 8 years ago and we have sort of always made music together. We started playing guitar together last year and I think that’s how our sound turned out the way it did. We’ve always wanted to make pop music.
Where did the new single come from?
Michel: In terms of the music we always wanted to write something that felt open and “anthemy” so that was the main focus. I always wanted to follow Ebbas vocal melody with the guitar and I felt it suited the song nicely.
Ebba: I’ve been struggling with writing love songs because I often get annoyed and feel like a cliché. There’s already so many love songs. With ‘You + I’ I decided to write about the struggle of social anxiety, and how me and Michel has helped each other a lot regarding those feelings. He’s my comfort zone and I believe I am his.
Is there more content in the pipeline?
Besides the album and our first ever physical release we’re releasing a zine to go with the album. We both do a lot of photography so it felt like a fun thing to do. After the album I think we’ll either release an EP or a double single. Or both.
What’s on the horizon for you?
We’re releasing our debut LP on october 20th, very excited for that. We’re going on a smaller European tour in support of the album by the end of October, and then probably on a bigger tour in the spring. We’ve already started working on our second album so we’ll probably release some new tracks in the beginning of next year! We are very productive and also very impatient, haha.
