Striking a harmonious balance between her classical roots and contemporary pop, Michelle Lynne releases ‘In the In-Between’. This soulful piano-driven composition, enriched by the talents of Nashville-based cellist Cremaine Booker, captures the essence of life in transition. The song resonates with anyone who’s faced uncertainty, a season of neither here nor there. Michelle’s poignant lyrics celebrate this often-overlooked “in-between” space, where the worst is behind, and a new chapter has yet to unfold. The track encapsulates the emotions of hope, resilience, and the beauty found in embracing the unknown. It’s a moving journey through the heart’s intricate passages, inviting listeners to cherish life’s transitional phases.

“This song is for when the worst is over and you’re out of that terrible place, but you haven’t yet come into the new season. When you still don’t know where you’re going, and you don’t have any answers – however, you’re OK and looking forward with hope. Sometimes when we’re in the middle of grief, we’ve been told to pretend like everything’s great. Put a smile on, you’re gonna be fine. You’re not bleeding, you’re fine… and this song came out of a place where I realized that I didn’t have the answers to many questions, and I was left in the place between.”

The track’s jazz-infused soundscape, enriched with cinematic strings and a hypnotic bass line, creates an evocative atmosphere, evoking the spirit of Italian ‘Gialo’ film scores from the 1970s. Thompson’s ethereal voice guides listeners through an enigmatic landscape, drawing inspiration from both classic and modern composers. Her soulful, contemporary sound is a mesmerizing testament to her musical prowess. It’s a song that resonates deeply, inviting you to ponder the intricate dynamics of time, distance, and human connection.

“Time can create distance with the important people and our lives can move in opposite directions. We never really know what’s going on until we ask.”

Australian indie-folk singer and songwriter Harrison Storm extends a comforting hand to those in need, offering a beacon of hope and understanding through new single ‘Daylight Sun’. As an artist whose music delves deep into the heart and soul, Storm continues to inspire and connect with his audience. ‘Daylight Sun’ is a glimpse into his forthcoming debut album, Wonder, Won’t You?, a collection that encapsulates the highs and lows of life, love, and self-discovery. Vulnerable and profoundly human, Harrison Storm’s music serves as a guiding light, reminding us that we’re never truly alone. This is a touching testament to the healing power of music.

“This collection of songs feels like it sums up the past few years for me as best I could. There’s a sprinkle of everything I’ve been through. Falling in love, facing and getting through mental health issues and ultimately striving to connect more with myself and the world. It’s been really healing to sit with these songs before I’ve shared them to the world as well, but I can’t wait for people to discover something through this album.”

With new single ‘Hibernate’, Woodes dives into the shadowy depths of her own artistry, unveiling the darker, more cinematic facet of her music. From the Hibernation EP, it’s filled with emotions of nostalgia, longing, and hope. This focus single encapsulates this transformation perfectly with sharp production and vivid melodies. Woodes has fully embraced her creative persona, offering a pure, unapologetic version of herself. Her music becomes a timeless soundtrack, a companion in life’s journey, just as she draws inspiration from the music that has moved her. With ‘Hibernate’, Woodes solidifies her place as a captivating, genre-defying artist who speaks to the soul.

“This is a very pure version of me. I was making music with my friend, and I was completely independent. I knew I had to stand behind it with a ‘ride or die’ energy. It felt great when I came out on the other side of everything…She’s coming out of Hibernation into this strong version of herself.”

NEA EINI’s ‘American Dream’ takes a poignant and unique perspective on the iconic concept. Rather than portraying boundless opportunities and desires fulfilled, it paints a picture of a lonely woman ensnared by her past and regrets. Her yearning to be the embodiment of her former lover’s American dream is a haunting reminder of how nostalgia can hold us captive. NEA EINI’s artistry knows no boundaries, refusing to be confined by any single genre. With this evocative and thought-provoking song, she reminds us that lingering in the past can render our existence lifeless. ‘American Dream’ is a striking exploration of longing, remorse, and the consequences of our choices.

“Forming an opinion on something you know of is always okay, whether it means you like it or dislike it, that’s okay. Forming an opinion on something you don’t know of, or before having seen it, heard it or whatever, to me is the same as debating on a subject on which you do not know: it’s a waste of time and kind of stupid.”

Hailing from Winnipeg, Indigenous musician and songwriter Ethan Lyric beautifully captures the simplicity and purity of love in his music. Charming indie-folk gem ‘I Love You More’ exudes a sense of innocence, reflecting the way love can make everything feel brighter and more profound. Written over the course of the past few years, this song is a delightful representation of Ethan Lyric’s forthcoming EP, Saskatoon Berries, produced by Jeremy Haywood-Smith (JayWood). It’s a sweet reminder of the power of love to infuse even the simplest moments with beauty and meaning.

“’I Love You More’ was written after watching the show Heartstopper and was inspired by my real-life views on love. I think this single shows off the simplicity of love while growing up and just how easy it can feel. The song works to encapsulate the memories you may have of when everything reminds you of a person, and everything you do seems dull in comparison to them. Not being able to put into words how you feel about someone is a common occurrence, and I guess my way of dealing with that is writing a song like this.”
