Bright synth-forward indie-pop in the vein of The 1975 mixed with LANY has come to us from Dutch solo artist Josha Daniel (formerly frontman of Silent War) via brand new single ‘Close To Me’. It’s an instantly uplifting song thanks to the motivating percussion punches, optimistic guitar riffs and dynamic synths, all of which underpin Daniel’s dreamy vocals. Undoubtedly, ‘Close To Me’ is a song of celebration, one that recognises the importance of seeing those who love for the first time in a long time.
This track is also our entryway into Daniel’s new album, titled Awake, a ten-track record honouring the resilience of humanity through these impossible times. The LP comes off the back of the vocalist and songwriter’s noteworthy collaborations with Armin van Buuren, Eelke Kleijn and Quenty, with this album being the icing on the cake of this artist’s burgeoning career.
“Close To Me is about the people in your life that you are truly connected to. We’ve felt a great distance for a long time, now it’s time to come together again.”
