Hey Amber, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?
Thanks for having me! Oooo people don’t really know that I’m a massive aviation nerd. I just find aeroplanes so cool. Although I do have a mild fear of flying. So I guess you could say my relationship with planes is turbulent…
What influences have gone into your sound recently?
When working on the tracks for the EP I wanted them to have an energy. I wanted them to be a bit wacky and unusual. I had just began finding artists I saw a bit of myself in. Like Marika Hackman and Billie Eilish. Artists who had quite soft voices but their production choices weren’t conventionally associated with their singing style. So artists like that showed me I don’t have to be an acoustic act because my voice is soft. It gave me confidence to take the tracks into a more experimental direction.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working towards the release of my new EP which is out on March 3rd! While also planning some music videos to go along with it all. I’ve also been writing in between all that, I’ve been inspired to write more about my opinions rather than situations recently which is new territory for me.

What are your plans the year ahead?
I’m looking forward to focusing more on writing, developing my songs and experimenting with some ideas. Then I’m getting back into the studio to record some new material. I feel like I’m getting into a rhythm with it now and starting to be able to craft my music a bit better. Whether that be sonically or visually. So I’m excited to create having this stronger sense of self.
Any top tips for getting through this difficult time?
Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re literally living through a global pandemic. I got a little part time job to help structure my days as it was getting overwhelming having this eternal amount of time. The new job gave me different challenges and shifted my energy, while still having enough time to work on music. So yeah, I found that helpful for me but I don’t think there’s a right way to get through this. Just do it in your own way, whatever that looks like.
