PREMIERE: Ci Majr drops dance-pop anthem ‘Summer Drug’ taken from her upcoming EP, Side Effects.

Atlanta-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer Ci Majr is back with her newest indie-pop offering, the irresistibly addictive, ‘Summer Drug’ exclusively premiering on Purple Melon.

Commanding your eardrums from the first note, ‘Summer Drug’ follows on from previous releases ‘Wiggle Room‘ featuring Benji Reyes, ‘Amsterdam‘ and ‘Sad Girl‘. Continuously adapting her style and taking inspiration from artists from Troye Sivan to Daft Punk, Ci Majr presents ‘Summer Drug’ as the first single to be taken from her forthcoming debut EP, Side Effects and serves as a sneak peak into what Ci Majr has in store for her steady-growing fanbase.

Introduced by stunning, emotion-filled vocals over a deep, penetrating bassline and shimmering synths, ‘Summer Drug’ has all the magnificent zeal and vitality of a fist-pumping, Ibiza dancefloor filler in it’s exhilarating beat drops and dynamic progression. However, despite its deceptively cheerful exterior, ‘Summer Drug’ is a somewhat solemn, emotionally revealing track about losing the ability to fully trust anyone after a break-up and therefore refusing to let anyone in beyond the physical.

Beautifully written, relatable and equally cry and dance-worthy, ‘Summer Drug’ has all the peaks, troughs and complex layers of a toxic situationship and a damn good pop song.
