Scottish alt -pop rock band Primes have released their fourth track in a string of singles this past year. The trio have gained significant traction during the past 12 months and now new single ‘Shangri-La’ joins it’s rightful place alongside previous singles ‘Nine Lives’, ‘Dreamer and I’, and ‘Moment’.
‘Shangri-La’ marks a new direction for the band, despite being distinctively recognisable as Primes signature sound, the song expands on the band’s usual territory, demonstrating their growth, development and musicianship as they venture into musical cosmos’s unknown.
“’Shangri-La’ is an imaginary paradise, heaven on earth and the fulfilment of our wildest fantasies. As the saying goes, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. ‘Shangri-La’ explores the truth behind the fairytale and the reality that some people unfortunately don’t have a happily ever after. Life can be tough, it will throw you curveball, it’ll beat you down and it’s not always rainbows and butterflies. What makes us keep going? It’s hope. Hope that the future holds something better and It’s exactly within those moments that life becomes exciting, interesting and makes the good times even sweeter.” – Primes.
