Chatterbox: Isaac B chats purple ducks, wordplay and debut EP ‘Chances Ocean’.

Hey, thanks for talking to us. Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?

I tell people everything ha but I’ve got a pet purple duck @iamlilquack – Before I actually made it to university I only scraped by getting my high school diploma after getting kicked outta 3 schools for fighting.

What influences have gone into your sound recently?

I’ve always been inspired by wordplay rather than a specific sound, as of recent I’ve gotten into some UK artist, Dutchavelli and Backroad Gee – I’m not sure it’s influenced my sound, but It’s motivated me to slowly put more energy into my tracks.

What are you currently working on?

I’m in the midst of finishing up a few collaborative projects for 2021, mixing and mastering quite a bit and connecting with the crew: AndWhatLdn – deciding what we want to do next.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

After All About Me I’ve still got plans to finish up the remix tape for my first EP Chances Ocean which will come at the end of the year or early next year, then ideally take some time off.

It’s been a crazy year and I’ve still managed to be somewhat of a workaholic.

Any top tips for getting through this difficult time?

I think top tips are dependent on people’s circumstances but I believe we’re in a time for reflectance, meditation and finding yourself. I urge anyone artist or not to be creative – and find something they always loved and didn’t have time to do. The rest is the usual, stay active – get out and able when possible. (without breaking the law of course (: )
