Canadian songstress POESY dazzles in her latest music video for her newest single, ‘Diamonds’

Canadian songstress POESY dazzles in her latest music video for her newest single, ‘Diamonds’. The release of the video follows on from the audio release that premiered last week to welcomed praise from the likes of Earmilk, Record of the Day and Conversations about Her. Now, with the track at over 30,000 streams on Spotify, POESY looks to support from fans for the visual instalment.

POESY – Diamonds

Building on her deeply moving and powerful vocals, the video for ‘Diamonds’ is an equally expressive show of POESY’s creativity and dedication to her craft. In the lyrics, POESY can be heard crying out as she tries her hardest to climb out of the emotional hole she’s found herself in, the imagery created by the words is reflected on screen as the light and dark sides of her literally fight it out on screen.

A highly conceptual music video, the visual for ‘Diamonds’ is a wonderful extension of POESY’s creativity and hands-on nature when it comes to creating and writing music. POESY is certainly one to watch in the next coming year.

“’Diamonds’ is at its core, a song about experiencing a dark time and trying to drag yourself through to the other side. It’s about the pressure you put on yourself that leaves you with dark inner turmoil. I’ve dragged myself out of that countless times so I hope Diamonds can do that for someone else. I called it Diamonds because they’re a substance that is made under huge amounts of pressure, but they’re also so valuable – just like we are. So be gentle with yourself…”
