ThorRixon’s ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’ is extroverted global-funk

Three years ago we spoked to Thor Rixon for our Chatterbox feature following the release of his Alice Phoebe Lou collaboration ‘Death pt II’. Now, we’re checking in again the South African musician who has since relocated to Berlin and begun anew on his musical project.

Rixon’s newest single ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’ presents extroverted global-funk, akin to the likes of Toro y Moi, Feng Sauve and stronboi. With a leading funk groove and disco rhythms, Rixon implores with his unrequited crush, “Love is a two way street, baby”.

It’s all topped off with a montage music video, in which strong dance moves and even stronger fashion looks file in one after another, not that Thor Rixon’s love interest takes any notice.
