Following his self-titled debut album last year, British songwriter Jolé left his home country for a writing expedition to Los Angeles. Not only did he find fresh creativity in the Sliver Lake area, but he also experienced a growing sense of longing for a loved one who he left back home.
Coming in at two minutes and thirty seconds, ‘Alpine Green’ is a snapshot into the life of Jolé who openly shares his emotions over gently plucked guitar strings and a restrained cinematic production.
‘Alpine Green’ is also the first taste of the English musician’s upcoming EP, Silver Lake, out on August 21st.
“I wrote this song whilst being really home sick. The narrative is about experiencing something beautiful or uplifting that you wish you could share with someone that can’t be there. It’s about feeling grateful in the moment but wanting someone you love to experience it with you also. However, in not being with that person, holding them in your thoughts or in your memory can sometimes be good enough.” – Jolé
