Orlando splits his time between a postcard-perfect village in the Cotswolds and the bustling metropolis of London, and yet his music could really bed made anywhere. This is the case for many artists who write and produce music from their bedrooms, and with the advent of digital globalism and greater access to affordable tech, many young creatives have found this avenue. Perhaps it’s his familiar setting that has encouraged Orlando’s vulnerability within new single ‘Kanye Owns The Moon’.
It’s a radiant and refreshing take on the genre, reminiscent of British acts like Rex Orange County and Easy Life. His relaxed, conversational flow is really endearing and throughout the song you get a sense of Orlando’s genuine personality which oscillates between wide-eyed optimism and crippling anxiety.
‘Kanye Owns The Moon’ features on Orlando’s brand new Nike’s and Dandelions EP, which you can check out here.
