Chatterbox: Alex Sloane

Hey, tell us something about yourself that our readers might not otherwise find out.

A hidden talent– I’m a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Your last EP, Dynasty, saw some success on Spotify. How did it feel receiving support on the platform?

The support felt amazing, and that little push from Spotify made all the difference. Almost an entire year after the release, “Dynasty” went viral in Taiwan. It’s wild to be able to reach people all over the world.

How did the new single develop?

I’ve always been obsessed with kalimba music and wanted to incorporate it into a track, so I brought the song to Sad Money with some ideas and he killed it.

What themes does it draw on?

I was playing with the idea of turning my feelings into something positive, and it grew into a song about self love. I wanted to explore the idea of value.

What do you have in store for your fans in the next few months?

I’ve got an EP coming in October and some new videos on the way!
