Chatterbox: TAL

Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Tal, I first got into music/writing 7 years ago while living in Mobile, AL. I began to  write and perform my spoken word poetry in a local coffee shops in and around Mobile. When I moved back to Tampa I began working closely with a producer and we began to put music to my lyrics. I saved what little money I had and began touring along the east coast of the US. Since then, I have worked extensively writing and recording with producers in Nashville and touring the US.

Where did the new single come from?

The new single HE, was written and produced by myself and my friend Ryan Corn. “Please clap for me, laugh at my jokes, don’t ever let go!” I wrote this song because I wanted to address this issue of relationships or the lack thereof between fathers and sons as it is important to me and something I think our culture today is very much acquainted with.

Is there more content in the pipeline?

There will be a new record by the end of this year titled “Chicago Made.”. Last year I released a record titled “The Great Struggling” as the first of a three part full length record. “Chicago Made” is the second in that series, and will be a buffet of musical genres. This record will pose the questions of “what has made you?” to the listener. Once Chicago Made is released there will be a final follow-up record titled “Fire Me.” This will finish my three part release plan. I will then re-release all 3 records as one with remixes and bonus songs. The title for the full project will be “THE GREAT CHICAGO FIRE.”

What’s on the horizon?

This year I aim to finish it with 100 live shows under my belt, and my goal for 2018 is to perform on Warped Tour. I will be doing an east coast tour at the end of September, and then a Christmas tour in December. I also plan to release a special Christmas single in November.
