Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
Yo guys! My name is Joe, I make music under the name 92elm. I started making beats in high school, trying to emulate my favorite producers like DJ Premier and Alchemist, and then got introduced to electronic music through some friends in college. I’m a pretty normal person, I like music and coffee and doing things outside on nice days like today.
Where did the new single come from?
“All For Me” started with me jamming on the keyboard and finding a chord progression that I vibed with. After that I began adding some melodies and samples into the mix. I often look for vocal samples to put in my songs that contain phrases or lyrics that reflect recent life experiences, so that’s where these ones came from. I’ve been in a relationship recently where the other person is very active in trying to learn me, and so “All For Me” kind of fits that idea.
Is there more content in the pipeline?
Most definitely! I’m working on music every day, and usually it’s just a matter of output until I find a track that I like enough to finish and release. I’ve got a few songs lined up to come out on labels, and I also have a sample pack in the works that will get released (hopefully soon). Other than that, I’ve been thinking about releasing video snippets more often of songs as I work on them.
What’s on the horizon for you?
As of right now, I’m not sure. I’m just working and creating, trying to get better every day at what I do. I hope to start playing out more in the future, but I don’t want to rush anything. I’d like to craft a unique set, with some live performance aspects, so I’m not just mixing tracks and doing a typical DJ set. I also want to do some traveling in the near future, because that seems like something I’d find rewarding.
