Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is JOHN.k I am a indie pop/soul singer currently creating in Orlando, FL. My goal is to create a fresh new sound, both parts current and timeless, that carries an emotional connection beyond a single genre. I love to sing about and connect to stories. I sing about love, heartbreak, loss, joy, and the spark of something new and fresh. I’m very passionate about connecting to the core of a person through music, and I feel as if I have been given a gift that gives me the ability to do that. That is a gift I can not waste.

Where did the new single come from?

The new single “OT” is a good example of the phrase, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” We had a simple melody line that felt good, so my producers and I set up a mic inside the studio together and did some active writing. We would write a lyric and then immediately record it just as an outline. When we were finished with the “outline,” we listened through and liked it so much we kept everything and didn’t re-record even a single line of the song. If it ain’t broke… Don’t fix it.

Is there more content in the pipeline?

Before moving to Orlando, I lived in Nashville for years singing, writing, and honing my craft. The perks of that time underground is that when I finally did move back to Orlando, I moved down with a fully loaded catalogue of music. I continue to create all the time, so there will be no shortage of material for this project. I can’t say too much at the moment but for my next single you can expect a quicker tempo, something to dance to.

What’s on the horizon for you?

My team and I are creating all the time, so there is absolutely no ceiling on this project. We have some new, fresh, exciting music that we are working on and this journey is getting more and more exciting every single day. I can not wait to share with you what we have spent the last two years perfecting.
