Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.

Damn, this question stumps me regularly. I guess I’m a vocalist/composer/producer/ant i-slut shaming/LGBTQ/third-wave-femin ist/elixir-brewing woman with red nails and lips. I was born in San Francisco, but I got started as a musician in New Orleans singing Jazz and moved to LA a little over a year ago. I live in Silver Lake with two other girls in the music industry — one’s a publicist, the other one’s a studio vocalist. Then, of course, there’s our son (i.e. French bulldog named Louie.) When I’m not making music I like to draw, do acroyoga, host vegan dinner parties, and listen to sex and entrepreneurship related podcasts while I mosey up and down hills.

Where did the new single come from?

Agor from Blue Hawaii and I co-produced it together, along with the rest of Sorceress (my new EP coming in late October). The original demo was actually the first song I ever produced in Ableton front to back, but it sounded really janky back then lol. As for where it came from… It’s about knowing how to have love in your heart but still have boundaries. As we get to know people and maybe even fall for them, we have to make sure our force fields remain intact. I didn’t used to be good at that in relationships, but now I’m getting better ;p

Is there more content in the pipeline?

Yesss, ‘Sorceress’ the EP and lots of films are coming.

What’s on the horizon for you?

A lot of music video shoots, and heading to New Orleans to do writing sessions with friends soon! Also gazing deeply into Louie’s eyes, who is the true muse. He’s a frequenter on my Instagram stories if you guys wanna get puppy envy @abbydiamondyes.
