There isn’t a lot of background available on Superorganism. The project is brand new, having just released their debut single ‘something for your M.I.N.D.’. All I know is that a “17 year old japanese girl from Maine” (info from the email) has banded together with seven friends from London. Superorganism is the result, and it’s pretty stunning.
Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Orono, I’m 17 and from Tokyo but go to school in Maine. I make music over the internet with my friends from all over the earth–so far our collective has people from Maine, Tokyo, London, Sydney, and Korea. I used to just record by myself with my guitar but together we are stronger than ever.
Where did the new single come from?
Something for your M.I.N.D. is about two people that are salty about each other discussing how shitty their lives are. My friends in London wrote the beat and I sung over it, our Korean friend added backing vocals, then it went back to London for more vocals and finishing touches. I made the artwork.
Is there more content in the pipeline?
We have a bright psychedelic video coming soon for something for your M.I.N.D., there are more songs coming and we’re adding more people to our collective.
What’s on the horizon for you?
We just want to have fun making music! Maybe we’ll drop an EP, maybe we’ll go on tour, who knows? But world domination is at the very top of our list at the moment.
