UK riser SAPPHIRE returns to her roots with the emotive ballad ‘call u mine’

Following on from all the praise and success over the course of 2021, London-based SAPPHIRE continues to tease her highly awaited EP with the contemporary-pop single ‘call u mine’.

Bringing together the expertise of her years performing cover songs on YouTube and with the recent experience of releasing single ‘Repeat’, SAPPHIRE takes it back a notch this time with sensitive piano chords and orchestral productions to tell the empathetic portrayal of heartbreak. Though offering a tale of loss and sadness, SAPPHIRE shares her experiences in good faith and allows her listeners to resonate with a series of events that have happened to most of us.

Her vulnerability also shines through in the beautiful music video in which the young artist is half submerged in a pool surrounded by pink roses and ivy.

With a year not to forget and singles that show off her versatility, SAPPHIRE is now ready to release her EP and to take the music world by storm in 2022.

“I really wanted this song to mimic the feeling of falling in love – that warm fuzzy feeling that we’ve all experienced in some way. But even though the production mirrors that feeling, the lyrics explain how it’s not always happily ever after. And I think ‘call u mine’ has really given me an opportunity to go back to my roots, taking inspiration from some of my idols like Carly Simon and Carole King. I’ve always felt like their songs came from the heart, which I’m hoping is how people will feel when they listen to this song.”
