Hey Oh Romance, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?
Alex: I’ve got a tattoo of Kevin Costner on my left thigh. Waterworld.
Keir: That’s a very ominous question, however I love Throat Music.
Blair: We all play Warzone and I carry the team indefinitely. I’m not the backbone of the band for no reason x
Kieran: One of my comfort movies is ‘Megamind’.
What influences have gone into your sound recently?
Alex: Definitely Wolf Alice, I’ve had ‘Blue Weekend’ on repeat.
Keir: So many, but a bit of Rolling Blackouts C.F. as of recent.
Blair: I have a lot drummer influences but Josh Manuel from Issues and Eddy Thrower from Lower Than Atlantis are so solid! I’ve have been watching a lot of their drum cams lately.
Kieran: Definitely IDLES for my bass style and tones.
What are you currently working on?
Alex: Finishing off our next single, and we’re demoing some others. Buzzing to get them out into the ether!
Keir: Finishing off the next single and working on others to follow that.
Blair: Next single is getting finalised. But apart from that, just practising our new material, which we can’t wait to release as well!
Kieran: Currently working to make the songs as tight as possible on my end, plus the new tracks.
What are your plans for the rest of the year, any last minute shows?
Alex: We’ve had a lot more opportunities open up for us than expected, which is a lovely reward in all honesty!
Keir: Keep your eyes peeled…
Blair: Lots to look forward to. Keep tabs on us for sure.
Kieran: Honestly, the amount of support we’ve received and the opportunities we’ve been given is insane.
Any top tips for musicians/artists navigating this difficult time?
Alex: I think it’s important that everyone knows the whole industry is in the same spot at the moment. Hope for the best, and put yourself out there without any hesitation!
Keir: Stay on your toes, we’re all in this together. Oooh, look at me type on my iPhone 3. Don’t leave 😦
Blair: Keep at it; we’re all in the same boat at the end of the day. Make music you truly love and stay motivated to do well.
Kieran: Just stick in with it. Ultimately, if you’re making music that you love then nothing can go wrong.
