Chatterbox: Ena Fay chats Britney Spears, remixes and exploring Brazil.

Hey Ena, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?

One of my first female icons was Britney Spears. When I was nine, my neighbour Bobby burnt her album ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ on a CD for me and I would listen to it while I was doing my homework. Thanks to that I loved doing homework.

What influences have gone into your sound recently?

After writing the latest song ‘Grow’, I listened to Whitney Houston’s ‘The Greatest Love of All’ and to John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’. I was checking I’m not stealing anything from their songs!!

What are you currently working on?

Writing some new songs as well as getting some more gigs booked in. We are also working on some remixes of the just released songs from my current EP ‘I Can Feel It, Too’!

What are your plans the year ahead?

There’s quite a lot going on actually. One thing that I definitely want to be doing is taking a break in Brazil for about 2 months. Wanna get to know the country and the music scene that my boyfriend comes from.

One thing first on my list is also to do lots of live music performances. After our concert in June the band and I are buzzing!

Any top tips for getting through this difficult time?

Let yourself be creative. For me that is writing songs. For others that might mean writing poetry or doing art…in times of social isolation that is where you can find connection to yourself and the rest of the world.
