Virginia native D.B Ricapito makes a welcomed return to the music scene with the release of his latest pensive, electro-pop single, ‘Good Things Don’t Last’ featuring pink haired, pop songstress, Erin Kirby. The track comes in as the lead single taken from Ricapito’s debut EP I Can’t Explain It also released today.

With a passion for music stemming back to childhood, it’s no surprise that Ricapito is no stranger to musical successes, having forged a name for himself as a modern pop sensation largely by his own doing. Since his debut in 2018 with ‘California King‘, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter has been on a positive upwards trajectory having amassed over 1 million streams and in excess of 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone!
With a sincere, honest and open approach to writing pop songs and his alignment with modern production partners like Starvos (Zendaya, AJ Mitchell) and JConn (Julian LaMadrid), D.B Ricapito’s EP is one that’s raw, authentic and sure to strike a chord in the mainstream world.
Speaking on his inspiration behind the EP, D.B Ricapito states:
“I’ve never been more excited for a new chapter to start. Working on this EP started last year and with everything that has been happening in the world we were unsure it would ever see the light of day.”
Adhering to his winning formula of ear-catching opening bars, ‘Good Things Don’t Last’ immediately sets the tone for the 808-heavy, Rn’B-infused pop number. Ricapito’s melodious vocals introduce the song over repeating synth chords and a punchy drum beat before being joined by Kirby’s sultry riffs at the quarter way point. The two young musicians duet, harmonising over the instrumental in a call and response fashion, adding an extra layer to the conversational nature of the song.
Thoughtfully written and masterfully produced, D.B Ricapito’s ‘Good Things Don’t Last’ is a fantastic piece of work and a song that’s sure to garner him significant praise from fans and press alike. D.B Ricapito, with the help of Erin Kirby has once again proven himself as a supremely talented songwriter who knows definitely his way around a pop song.
