Boston-native Gillian Frey is back again with an emotional and heartfelt new single. The release follows a string of successful singles throughout the year including ‘High’, ‘Static’ and ‘Desperate’ which have received praise from music publications including Variance Magazine, Stage Right Secrets, and The New Nine.

Now, with another EP on the horizon, the young singer-songwriter returns to tease her newest single, ‘Fray’ giving fans a sneak peak into what her upcoming project might hold.

At just 16 years of age, Gillian Heidi writes with a wisdom beyond her years and ‘Fray’ stands as a testament to both her maturity and her skill as a songwriter. In the song, Gillian reflects on her relationship which she knows will soon come to an end. ‘Fray’ is a beautiful, piano led ballad fuelled by raw, unbridled emotion and written with the utmost sincerity and endearing vulnerability.

 

“I really tried to convey the feeling of when something is just beginning to fall apart, but it hasn’t gone down in flames yet,” she writes. “The song is emotional and raw, but not angry.”
