Hey, thanks for talking to us. Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?
Diving straight in! Ummmm, one thing is that I’m stupidly house-proud. I feel like outside of making music, my most time consuming hobby is either tidying up or buying new bits of furniture… or plants.
What influences have gone into your sound recently?
I’ve been listening to a lot more pop? A lot of female pop artists at the moment are making the most boundary pushing stuff in my opinion. I love a musician called Laurel, also Clairo, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa of course… and who doesn’t love Billie Eilish.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on the release to follow this single. Since lockdown i seem to have got a lot busier which is the opposite to what you might expect! I’m also in a prog band called Marathon with my uncle, who plays keys in Marillion. So that keeps me on my toes.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
By the end of the year I’d like to have another song either released or soon-to-be released. And also to have pushed myself further out of my comfort zone creatively, in whatever form that might take! It also wouldn’t be the worst thing for me to get back into running… I’m a long way off the 20km I used to be able to run!
Any top tips for getting through this difficult time?
Try and think of all the things you constantly wish you had the time to do… maybe time to bump those things up the priority list just a tad. And also make quality time with your family, be that in the same room of virtually, and just chill out, in every aspect of life, just chill out! That’s been my mantra this year.
