Inkfields aka Samuel James-Griffiths has released his unique, contemporary and quaintly quirky new tune ‘Riccio’. Another little gem to drop off from the ever-rising London label Absent Mind. Drawing on a rather wide and extremely varied chunk of musical influences, Inkfields uses this persona as a vehicle for his indie pop aspirations and love-lorn melodies to carve out an extraordinary and enticing sound.
‘Riccio’ is a dream inducing, romantic cut with unusual vocal effects, flickering guitar riffs and a solid, yet fluid groove that carefully binds all the pieces together perfectly. An alluring tune from start to finish, Inkfields ability to create catchy, hook-driven, guitar led, alt-pop strikes again.
‘‘Riccio is about the journey of love. How it takes you through gut wrenching moments up to peaks in which you feel unconquerable. The track was written and recorded during the depths of lockdown. A friend of mine was going through a difficult relationship break up at the time, inspiring the lyrics for the song. The message is simple and clear: ‘love isn’t always easy and when things get tough, it’s ok as there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.’’ – Inkfields
