Hey Pat Lok, thanks for talking to us. Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?
So when I’m in writing/music mode (which is most of the time) I don’t like stopping for meals, too disrupting. I will straight up boil a can of beans to eat. The rest of the time I can’t stop thinking about food and actually have a couple of moves in the kitchen.
What influences have gone into your sound recently?
I’ve been shifting from R&B influences towards the club, incorporating classic sounds (and hardware synths) and an almost pan-Asian sonic palette. My family is from Singapore originally so lately I’m embracing a lot more ethnic/organic bits of percussion and instruments to catch a vibe.

What are you currently working on?
A ton of remixes and streaming 3x a week (@patlokmusic)! Every Friday live on Twitch I interview other artists and we give demo feedback. Also on Sundays, I break down and remake classic tracks from artists like Justice and Destiny’s Child which keeps me busy.
What are your plans for this year, has the current state of things affected those?
Like everyone else, I’ve pushed back all of my shows including Asia and Australia tours. So I’ll just keep making music until we see how it shakes out.
Any top tips for getting through this difficult time?
Practice gratitude and appreciation. Build a routine. Push yourself where you can.
