Lissy Taylor has sped into 2020 with her newest, dreamy release ‘MayDay’, accompanied with an equally as dreamlike video. It features the artist in much warmer temperatures amidst fairytale like forests and then contrastingly in a very well looked after old Ford, traveling down the road, wind sweeping through the open windows.
The video is expertly paired with the singers sultry, ethereal vocals, reminiscent of a young Lana Del Ray, but made completely the artists own with huge guitar riffs which balance out the dreaminess with the enthralling darkness, resulting in not only a well written, catchy tune, but a song with great depth, texture and colour.
“When I wrote Mayday I was fighting an internal war. I felt hopelessly misunderstood and alone. I think there is a strength in recognising that everyone has their own struggles that aren’t always visible. Writing Mayday helped me understand my own struggles with mental health and I hope it will help other people in the same way.” – Lissy Taylor.
