Originating from Walthamstow, East London, simon a. grew up in a creative, arty household, from being the top in his class for his drawing skills, he then began to explore other artistic ventures which is how he discovered music and instantly became fascinated.
simon a. effortlessly bends and blends a multitude of aspects from varying genres and tiptoes around the musical seams. Making his songs feel and sound familiar, yet at the same time like something completely new. In his latest single ‘Grace’, you can clearly hear the flecs of influences such as Frank Ocean, James Blake and Anderson Paak.
Grace is artfully sculpted, blessed with beautiful vocals and a seriously impressive range, its soulful, groovy and manages to combine the essence of meditation leading to a radiant energetic release after the choruses.
“Grace is about searching for something, but being too complacent to go and get it. I framed it metaphorically as ‘looking for a person’ to humanise my relationship with my goals, and to amplify the fact that I know where I want to be but have no idea how to get there. I’m sure I’ll figure it out, but that’s how I’m feeling right now.” – simon a.
