Daniela Andrade has released her new single ‘Genesis’, a self-produced and self-written masterpiece. As soon as the track opens up, you are aware that this is the product of Daniela’s creative image; a journey through her own psyche, an ode to taking intentional steps towards the things you want by living in the present. The accompanying music video was shot on 16mm film by Jeremy Comte – a winner at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. The video is showcases Daniela’s Hispanic roots and influences.
“Genesis came about really late at night, I was already in bed trying to get to sleep but couldn’t get the first line and melody out of my head. I ended up writing and producing most of it in a couple hours. At this point, I had been producing my own music for a few months and was getting a bit tired of hearing my own voice. I decided to try pitching my vocals down a touch and ended up really liking the effect it gave to the whole mood of the song. It’s always an interesting thing for me to be able to have a song come about and feel ‘finished’ so quickly. The song was something I needed to hear for myself and the chorus feels like a kind of mantra I want to practice within my own life.” – Daniela Andrade
