Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
Hey! I’m a singer, songwriter and producer based in London. I’ve been writing and producing music for the last 8 years and record all my songs pretty much at home. Vocally, I would say that I’m inspired by soul and classic R&B but my production style borrows from more electronic influences. I’ve always been a fan of ambient electronic music so I suppose it’s a fusion of those genres.
Where did the new single come from?
The new single “Cover Me” was actually written 3 years ago but ended up a lost, unfinished demo. I had a copy of it on my desktop and clicked on it completely by accident a few months ago. Hearing it after so long re-ignited how I first felt writing it and led me to finish the song. I often “write-off” songs too early on in the creative process without giving them a fair chance and this was a good experience to finish something that I felt still had some potential. The song was co-produced with Will Night. I brought the stems to him and we re-created the drums and bass parts from scratch. We kept a lot of the synths and melodies from the original demo. We also recorded live drums to give it a more “live” feel. That drum session really brought the track to life!
Is there more content in the pipeline?
Absolutely! I’ve been writing non-stop since coming off the road supporting Coldplay this summer. There’s an exciting collaboration in the pipeline as well as 3 new tracks and a video. I’ve also started writing my first album which I’m very excited about!
What’s on the horizon for you?
An album in 2018 and hopefully a lot more shows. The more I play live the more I fall in love with the experience and the audience. I can’t wait to meet some of the lovely people that have been listening to the music.
