Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a one-man-dog-band. I love my Doobs and my Scoobs (and lofi indie-groove music.) I was birthed from the sandy soil of Encinitas, California–a rad little beach town, most famous for its great surf and fringe-religious communities.
Where did the new single come from?
One of our main beaches, Swami’s, is named after Guru Paramahansa Yogananda. (Yeah, no clue how to pronounce this.) Velma and I were wandering PCH (lil high tbh) and decided to walk around the “Self Realization Gardens.” Before we knew it, we were surrounded by bald monks in tan robes chanting. Social anxiety wouldn’t allow us to leave the pack so off we went to a retreat. I got back and wrote this song about feelin the creeps from religion. Don’t worry, Scoobert always wins in the end!
Is there more content in the pipeline?
Does Jeff Sessions hate weed? Like, totally there’s more music! Like, monthly. Follow me on Spotify. It’s my main chick.
What’s on the horizon for you?
My next single features reggae artist Macka B. It combines my lofi groove with his reggae vibes. I released my first hip-hop track, Scoobert Snack, last week. Looking for some rappers to collab with on future tracks. Like, DM me on twitter! @scoobert_doobie
