Chatterbox: YAYA

Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.

Hey, Im a former ballerina, precent dancer, singer and music maker and all that is YAYA. After a long time and many attempts to work with different producers without finding MY sound, I decided to do everything myself, so I did 🙂

I started to produce all my stuff myself and a whole new world of sounds, inspiration and opportunities opened. My music is straight and honest, but even if the lyrics can be heavy, there is always a sense of hope. I spend the days in my studio in Stockholm and the nights DJ’ing, just as I like it.

Where did the new single come from?

I´ve actually had some of the lyrics for quite some time, and the production have had many different costumes. But somehow for a while it all came together, this song is really were I am right now. So it went pretty fast and it felt ”done”, so I just had to release it right this very now.

Is there more content in the pipeline?

Yes! I´ve been releasing a couple of singles and videos now witch is so much fun, but the next one will be followed by an whole EP with new stuff. I´m also gonna continue work as a producer and songwriter to other artists during the spring/summer (well, my whole life) because it´s so much fun and important for me to meet other people and create things together as well. (Working on my own all the time is fantastic but it also drives me a bit crazy haha so I need both.)

What’s on the horizon for you?

To create YAYA bigger and by that meaning: Make more songs, work with more directors and photographers to make more videos and installations. To work with choreographs, lighting designers etc and create crazy live shows. To meet and make music for/with others to share and create their vision and dream. To be with the ones I love and be loved.
