Lemonade Baby’s latest single ‘Airbnb’ is a breezy, feel-good track that perfectly blends jazzy-R&B with neo-soul, making it both catchy and contemplative. Created spontaneously during a writing session with Breanna Fielding, the song was inspired by a conversation about finding solace and peace in an Airbnb after long days of performing. The lyrics reflect a desire for a safe space to unwind, with a clever mix of lightheartedness and introspection.
The melody is a standout feature, capturing a bittersweet, reflective vibe that feels deeply relatable. Its effortless groove, combined with lush chords and mellow rhythms, evokes comparisons to artists like Remi Wolf and Sam Gellaitry. What makes ‘Airbnb’ truly special is how natural the production feels. It’s a song born from casual conversation but carries an emotional depth that resonates on multiple levels. The laid-back, jazzy vibe fits seamlessly with the artist’s evolving sound, giving us a promising glimpse into his upcoming album. If ‘Airbnb’ is any indication, Lemonade Baby’s new project will be one to watch.
“Airbnb is one of few songs that came together by accident. I was in a writing session with my friend Breanna Fielding and we were talking about life and what we had done the past week. She mentions that when she’s too tired from performing she’ll book an Airbnb, so she doesn’t have to drive home. It also was a great excuse to not have to see anyone, she could just decompress. We start jamming chords and start singing along. In amazement I said to her, “Your melody sounds “complicated/happy but a little bit sad in a weird way”. She then Replies saying that’s a perfect line, and somehow worked that into the lyrics. It was so easy to write we had the song finished in a few hours. I guess the lyrics focus on needing a safe space to breathe and be at peace, all thanks to an Airbnb. I’d always wanted to make a Jazz-R&B/Neo-Soul record, and I’m super excited to include this on my next album.”
