In partnership with STUDIOCANAL, Bang & Olufsen continues its dedication to fostering emerging talent by presenting a unique opportunity for aspiring musicians. The luxury audio brand is launching a competition offering a transformative five-day residency at London’s renowned Metropolis Studios, where Amy Winehouse crafted her seminal Back to Black album. To coincide with the release of the highly anticipated feature film BACK TO BLACK, Bang & Olufsen invites singer-songwriters to vie for this extraordinary opportunity. The chosen artist will immerse themselves in the same creative atmosphere as Winehouse, guided by mastering engineer Stuart Hawkes, who contributed to Back to Black.
During the residency, the winning artist will work alongside the Metropolis production team to record and mix two mastered tracks. This endeavor follows Bang & Olufsen’s successful B&O Music Lates series, showcasing London’s emerging talent in its Mayfair store. Zoe Baddeley, Head of Marketing & PR (UK & IE) at Bang & Olufsen, expresses excitement about bridging emerging artists with the music industry. A panel of industry luminaries, including Sam Taylor-Johnson and Stuart Hawkes, will select three finalists to perform at an exclusive London event on May 1st.
In addition to the residency, the chosen artist will perform alongside Winehouse’s original band. Singer-songwriters can enter by submitting an introduction and a video performance of their original work by the deadline of April 23rd, with the finalists announced for the May 1st event.
