PARCS’ latest single ‘Wait!’ channels disco vibes with its four-on-the-floor beat, melodic synths, and a driving bassline. The lyrics delve into the theme of seeking short-term highs in places you probably shouldn’t. What sets ‘Wait!’ apart is the collaborative effort of the entire band, with Elly and Kristy contributing both lyrically and vocally, while Liam and Joe shine in production and songwriting. The song’s genesis began with a simple drum and synth loop in a rehearsal room, but it soon evolved into a more elaborate and groovy track. PARCS wanted to explore a different facet of their sound while retaining their core dream-like, synth-heavy character and introducing brighter elements. The result is a refreshing addition to their repertoire. It was recorded at home and with vocal sessions overseen by Richard Jackson (known for his work with bands like The Automatic and Future Of The Left).
“The song’s origins were a simple loop drum and synth loop recorded in a rehearsal room, soon becoming an idea that we couldn’t help but add to and construct a more elaborate groove. We wanted to explore a different angle of the PARCS sound while still maintaining that core dream-like, synth heavy character but also introducing some bigger and brighter sounds.”

DD Walker’s music is a testament to their ability to convey profound emotions through their craft.
“I wrote this in 15 minutes at 2 in the morning after a months-long low after this dramatic break-up. I was crashing in the room I made music in when I was growing up and just put together a little make-shift recording setup for 2 weeks back there. The nostalgia was palpable in that space and with this wish to be back with this person and how we were before it was a negative thing… I demoed a record’s worth of material in a couple weeks and this was the most direct and quick to finish.”
