TRACE explores R&B originality in EP track ‘Too Much’

From the brand new The End Of A Feeling EP, TRACE’s single ‘Too Much’ is an original blend of R&B, indie and pop. With her multicultural upbringing shaping her potent lyricism, this emerging artist uses this release to showcase her growth and versatility as an artist, leaning more into the R&B side of her craft. The track combines smooth vocals, pop-infused melodies and a melancholic alt-pop production to produce an emotionally resonant experience. Throughout it all, TRACE’s introspective songwriting shines through as she crafts a delicate balance of structure and feel-good ambience. She also explores the acceptance of being “too much” and the complex emotions of hurt and pride. In addition, the polished production complements her captivating voice, while the song’s ebb and flow add depth and intrigue.

With ‘Too Much’, TRACE reaffirms her position as one of the most exciting artists in pop, leaving listeners eager to discover more of her captivating musical journey.

“TOO MUCH” is the purest form of sadness on my EP. I wrote this from a place of acceptance that “too much” isn’t a bad thing, but a necessary thing to get to the place of honesty and truth about oneself and about others. TOO MUCH is about admitting hurt, which coincides with a sense of pride being softened. It also feels like a song that is more about me and less about anyone or anything else. It introduces hints of R&B the rest of the record doesn’t really present but I think I wanted to subdue the emotions a bit. Causing perhaps a desire to reflect and move on.”
