LIONLION reveal the music video to their of the year, ‘What Remains’

Following on from the release of the singles, ‘Sidewalk‘ and ‘Much ado about Nothing‘, German brothers Matthias and Michael Rückert offer another taste of their upcoming album, Perspective, set for release later this year. As the third single to be revealed from the album, the ‘What Remains’ music video acts as a looking glass that slowly begins to tie in the story and unravel the cryptic meaning behind the project’s title.

In the video for ‘What Remains’, LIONLION push their creativity taking influence from MC Escher’s paradoxes. The Rückert brothers go against the laws of nature in a time-bending quest to reunite the characters of their gripping video. Shot in the modernist-industrial Eiermannbau, the location is the perfectly surreal backdrop to the message of the single the pursuit of plausibility and knowledge.

Much like its predecessors, ‘Sidewalk’ and ‘Much ado about Nothing’, ‘What Remains’ also plays on the emerging, interconnected themes of perspective from which LIONLION’s album takes its name. Encompassed in subtly distorted, rock-style vocals, hazy electric guitars and punchy percussion, ‘What Remains’ is an exciting and welcomed new insight into what is sure to be a memorable and highly artistic album.
