Andreww drops label-defying new single, ‘Medusa’

Starting off the year with a banger, model-turned-musician Andreww releases his stirring, label-defying new single, ‘Medusa’.

Grabbing your attention at the first beat, ‘Medusa’ draws you in with a complex and layered instrumental produced by Berlin-based Markus Ganter (Casper,  AnnenMayKanterei). Andreww places an emphasis on not being confined to any particular genre so his music often blends elements from hip-hop, trap and grunge to create unique and immersive soundscapes and Medusa is no exception.

Scattered pulsating trap beats, hip-hop heavy 808’s and grungy electronic guitars weave their way throughout the track whilst Andreww’s longing, angst-filled vocals lay over them in pop-fulled melodies, narrating the story of a toxic relationship.

“As much as people didn’t want to look at Medusa they still did. It’s the same with toxic relationships. No matter how bad they are for you, you can’t help but stay in them. ‘Medusa’ is about these toxic relationships and all the two-faced feelings that come with them. The inner conflict also reflects in the music; clashing trap, grunge and pop against each other kind of shows that things that sometimes aren’t meant to together, still end up staying together.”
