Chatterbox: Jakan chats juggling, influences and dancing for your dog.

Hey, thanks for talking to us. Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?

Well… I have been able to juggle 3 balls since I was 5 years old. Which really hasn’t come in as useful as I thought..

What influences have gone into your sound recently?

I listen to a wide range of styles, and have been massively inspired by a lot of 80s pop music, such as Talking Heads, Steve Winwood and Kate Bush. One of my favourite albums is ‘Whispering Jack’ by John Farnham, so many inspiring melodies in there!More recently i’ve been influenced by the sounds of The 1975, Anderson Paak, Post Malone, Francis and the Lights.

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on my next few singles which I am super excited about! As well as collaborating with a couple different producers on some different projects.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

I am gutted not to be able to gig new music at the moment, which would have been my plan! But instead just going to focus on making music.

Any top tips for getting through this difficult time?

I think as a creative, life feels a lot more exciting when I have created something and especially in the collaborative sense, so I think connecting with people and making things. If that’s not too broad! Oh and one important one…if you have a dog, dance for them and watch them get confused. That always helps.
