London-based alt-pop project Petrie have shared the long awaited follow up to the Slurs EP. It comes in the form of new single ‘June’, the perfect soundtrack to this long, hot summer. The soundscape is a winning combination of glassy guitar riffs, driving percussion and George’s trademark melodic flourishes. A bouncy bass line provides a big dose of groove, underpinning an ear worm of a hook.
“This is a song for when neither you nor your lover wants to admit the relationship is deteriorating, simply because you want to enjoy a gorgeous summer. No amount of factor fifty is gonna save you from the sun’s deceptively malevolent glare.” – Petrie
