Hey, thanks for chatting to us. Could you tell our readers something about yourself that they might not find out otherwise?
Some of my friends are really impressed that I can do headstands, but it’s a fluke every time!
How would you describe the sound you’ve crafted over your last few releases?
It’s hard to give a general description as the sound has varied a lot over the last few releases. I used to demo just with piano chords and a vocal, but these days I’m usually writing over an (almost) fully formed instrumental, so I think this change has affected the sound. We’ve also realised less is more, so the sound has grown up a bit now.
What does the new single draw upon?
It draws upon making sensible decisions. The heart wants what the head can’t figure out how to get, so the best option is just to leave it alone and work through the withdrawal symptoms.
Did it evolve significantly in the studio from the original demo?
Actually no, not really – JKP had a beat that Moli and I wrote over together, and we ended up keeping things simple. There’s something to be said for simplicity.
Is it part of a larger project, an EP or Album?
Not sure! I guess we’ll see. Personally, I always lean towards singles rather than EPs or Albums.
What do fans have to look forward to over the next few months?
I’ve been collaborating with some amazing producers on their tracks, and they’ll be releasing a few over summer featuring my voice. We’re also going to smash the live shows, so follow me for news on dates – @notmarna everywhere.
