Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a San Francisco based artist/producer, SUMif. After graduating from NYU where I studied music business, I moved to Nashville to try my hand at writing country tunes. I eventually moved back to California where I fell in love with electro-pop music with and taught myself the basics of production. I released 7 singles in 2016 and in the past year have been perfecting my live show, opening for a lot of my favorite artists including Vérité, Ella Vos, Lauv, RKCB, and Little Boots.
Where did the new single come from?
It started with a Massive patch my friend sent me (a virtual synthesizer sound), so I started developing the production – while I was working on it my friend told me a story about a steamy affair, so I used those ideas as a base for my lyrics.
Is there more content in the pipeline?
Yes! Two more singles are ready to go followed by my very first EP titled Pretty Cage.
What’s on the horizon for you?
I am looking forward to releasing a lot of new music soon, and playing more shows. I hope to be able to tour in early 2018. I can’t wait for the day I can play music festivals – I’m dreaming of those and working my ass off to get there as soon as possible.
