Chatterbox: Stee

Hey, tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a singer/songwriter from Washington D.C. who began my music career when Youtube featured my debut single on the front page in March 2008. Racking up over 200,000 hits from the feature, it gave me the jump start to my career as an indie artist that I needed!

How did the new single come about?

“Don’t Cha” is actually a song written by a wonderful writer by the name of Brooke Danielle and produced by Malcolm ‘MacGuyver’ Horne. The feel of the song originates from the native sound of Washington D.C. which is Gogo. While this song isn’t full on Gogo, it has the elements. I wanted to make a song that represented where I’m from because up till this point, I have had no representation of my city.

Is there more content in the pipeline?

I’m ALWAYS writing and gearing up for the next Stee project. The rest of 2017 will be continuing to push the “Three – EP” and for 2018, I’m going to do a single series consisting of 3 singles being released throughout the year. I’m very excited about it and I know my fans will enjoy the new material.

What’s on the horizon for you?

Currently, my main focus is to step up my live shows. I’m hoping to grace the stage of major festivals for the coming year. Major placements on SXSW & Bonnaroo would simply be a dream! Over all, I’m looking forward to what the future holds, I know it will be bright!
