Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
Hey! I’m half Irish, half Spanish, grew up between London and Madrid, so I’ve always had big influences catapulted from two very different directions. I’ve been back in London for almost 3 years now and I love it. There’s always somewhere new to go and someone new to meet, so it’s hard to get bored.
I started writing music when I was 13 years old and have always had a curious eye. I love experimenting with things which explains why I probably tried out every kind of music genre there is. I participated in all my school musicals, then went to a Jazz school when I was 17, grew up in a home where my dad’s U2 records were always playing and if not it was my mum’s flamenco….. So I definitely had a lot of inspiration to draw on.
Where did the new single come from?
I wrote “Lie to Me” a year or two after moving from Madrid to London. I was already at home here and started to miss my other home. Growing up, my relationship with Madrid was always pretty much love and hate. Madrid is an amazing city, it oozes so much life… but I remember feeling limited creatively, I was blocked…. I was so eager to explore some other part of the world.. but once I did I started having an unexpected mix of emotions. I felt overwhelmed here and so nostalgic towards Madrid. I really didn’t expect that. It made me realise how lucky I was to have both cultures so present in my life and to have two homes rather than just the one. I consider “Lie to Me” a bittersweet homage to the city and the people which have and keep inspiring me everyday.
Is there more content in the pipeline?
Yes definitely! I’m currently finishing writing for my third EP which will be released around September. Hopefully I will also get to do a couple of gigs which is always fun stuff!
What’s on the horizon for you?
More and more music! I co-produced this EP so that’s also something I’d like to focus on in the future. Eventually I’d love to be able to produce all my stuff and have my own studio. I’m also looking forward to writing with other musicians and songwriters, keep learning and keep growing 🙂
