Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
We’re The Wild Now, born and bred in Austin, TX. Our sounds can best be described as indie/electronic/pop…but our music doesn’t sound quite like any other bands, so you should listen to it and see for yourself. We met at a Local Natives show during SXSW in 2013 and started playing together shortly after that.
Where did the new single come from?
‘Tongue Tied’ is on our brand new EP and it’s the kind of song you can listen to if you want to get turnt up or down. All of our music kind of has that quality to it. We wanted to incorporate more trumpet into our music, so ‘Tongue Tied’ was born out of that idea and it turned into a really fun, dance-y track.
Is there more content in the pipeline?
Always. We’ll be back in the studio in August working on a few new tracks that we’re stoked about. We’re really coming into our sound so it’s an exciting time for us to be making new tunes. It can also be really challenging though…knowing how you want something to sound before actually creating it.
What’s on the horizon for you?
Lots of good stuff. We’re about to dive into an east coast tour and hitting a lot of rad cities that some of us have never been to. Also, we’ll be playing Austin City Limits Music Festival in October, which is a huge milestone for us! We’ll probably do a west coast tour in the fall as well, but nothing’s set in stone yet.
