Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a singer-songwriter based in London. Growing up I was absorbed by the music of the 60’s, and have played my whole life. I recently left the Marines to devote myself fully to music.
Where did the new single come from?
Ocean started out as an idea on my acoustic guitar, but when I started adding in other instruments it completely changed it’s nature, and the song took on a life of it’s own. It developed over a period of time, really of it’s own accord, and I felt like I was following it as it grew into what it is now.
I normally add lyrics to melodies once they are written, but when I started singing ‘I’m alive to your pain, feels like the ocean drives us down’, the lyrics and melody came out simultaneously, and I knew what the song was about. It is both literal and metaphorical; it is about someone drowning, but it is also about being overwhelmed by various burdens in life.
Is there more content in the pipeline?
I have more material recorded which I will be sharing shortly, and will then put out some live recordings.
What’s on the horizon for you?
I am looking forward to playing live, initially it will be just me with an acoustic guitar, but in due course I will be bringing the songs to life with a band….
