‘Love You Twice’ is a poised step forward for London’s rising voice Moniah

Last year, the London-based rising artist Moniah appeared on our radar with two unmissable singles ‘RUN’ and ‘PURPLE CLOUDS’. Now, she’s back again with her best release to date, the beautifully titled ‘Love You Twice’. It’s a gentle, reflective and quietly immersive listen that’s composed of mellow indie-pop beats, reverb-soaked guitars and Moniah’s expressive voice. Rather than leaning into the catchiness of pop immediacy, this songwriter seeks something deeper with this single and she’s turned to nature for some of this profound inspiration. Her lyrics are crafted from water metaphors that meditate on the fluid ebb and flow of human emotion, particularly that of love.

Moniah’s warm and quietly confident vocals explore a range of aquatic imagery, from currents to tides to anchors, all of which convey the many iterations of romance. However, where we believe much of this artist’s focus is on that quiet kind of love that brings assurance, tranquility and calm to one’s life. The subtle production further enhances Moniah’s intimate performance and it allows the song’s deeper meaning to unfold at its own pace. ‘Love You Twice’ is a poised step forward in London’s indie-pop scene, with much more on the horizon ahead.
