From the muddy fields of his hometown, Bury St. Edmunds producer Consequential makes his debut with ‘Cravin”, an aqueous dose of drum and bass laced with trance and dub elements. It’s the sonic embodiment of that “golden hour” when everything lines up, even just for a moment, to give you some peace. At the same time the producer is clear to ground these solar sounds in the real world by incorporating snapshots of his daily life, such as a playful sample of the sound of his dog catching a tennis ball. Elsewhere the producer has taken inspiration from watching the meticulous way that birds build their nests, replicating that in the layered construction of this compelling track. Deeply connected with nature, this unconventional approach but one that feels both purposeful and organic.

Heavy basslines, spacious melodies and subtle club beats work in tandem to balance that drum and bass energy with an ambient restraint. The result is an uplifting, nostalgic and forward-facing atmosphere that’s a much-needed pick-me-up when life’s mundanity is getting you down. As the first release from this innovative creative, ‘Cravin” signals that Consequential is ready to step into the spotlight and share his carefully crafted tracks with the world.
