Hey Kyle , thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. Huge congrats on the release of your new album ‘Louder Than Words’. Let’s kick things off with an ice breaker.
Could you tell us something about yourself that nobody knows?
Hmm, something nobody knows… I can’t whistle, or snap my fingers, it’s quite sad.
What influences have gone into your sound recently?
For my current music, there’s quite a range of inspiration, from modern artists like OneRepublic, Maroon5, Gavin DeGraw, and Sam Smith to some more old school and retro sounds that I grew up listening to.
What are you currently working on?
Currently I’m working on an entire acoustic version of the album that will be coming out soon!
Any top tips for getting through writer’s block?
I think usually it’s best to take a break and come back with a fresh perspective. Usually that works for me. When I try to force creativity, it usually just becomes more frustrating than anything else.
What is your favourite thing about being an artist?
My favourite aspect of being a recording artist is the whole creative process of writing a song and seeing it come to life in the studio. I also really love this stage where I get to share the songs and see what’s resonating with the listeners.
Who would be a dream collaboration and why?
I would love to work with an artist like John Mayer. I just think as a songwriter, he has such cool ideas and his instrumentation is always next level. He’s such a good guitarist.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
For the rest of the year, I’m going to keep pushing ahead with this album. I’ll get the whole acoustic album out as well! And I’m looking forward to starting work on my next projects, for 2024!
What are you calling in for 2024?
For 2024 I’m hoping to do a lot more shows, get a bunch of new music out, and really connect with audiences more and more!
