Hailing from Virginia, 19-year-old singer-songwriter Annah Marcelle unveils her latest track ‘Running in Circles’. This song offers a fresh blend of heartfelt lyrics and a soothing pop ambiance that’s poised to captivate music enthusiasts. Inspired by musicians such as Gracie Abrams and Lizzy McAlpine, she has channeled her unique style into a pop track characterized by a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. In contrast to some of her previous work, Marcelle deliberately pursued a simpler approach, allowing the melodies and lyrics to harmonize seamlessly.
Meticulously recorded at her home studio and expertly mixed and mastered by Nashville-based producer Kara Greskovic, the song encapsulates the lingering emotions one may feel after a relationship, even long after it has ended. Marcelle eloquently conveys a range of feelings, including anger, nostalgia, and vulnerability, making ‘Running in Circles’ a lyrically and stylistically significant addition to her catalog.
As she prepares to audition for the upcoming season of American Idol, Marcelle is set to reach a wider audience with her undeniable talent. Her commitment to both her academic pursuits, where she is studying Writing with a minor in Music, and her musical endeavors underscores her dedication to her craft. ‘Running in Circles’ is a glimpse into the promising future of a talented artist on the rise.
“Running in Circles is about the negative feelings that one can still have after a relationship, even if it has been a really long time. It is about never really coping with something that happened to you, and through all of the heartache that it caused, still wanting the person who caused it to be there to help you through it. Running in Circles embodies lots of different emotions like anger, nostalgia, and vulnerability. This song means a lot to me because it is one of my favorites lyrically and stylistically.”
